Configuring After Install

Confused about getting started after the site is installed?  On this page is some quick steps to help get your new CRE Loaded site configured.


1) Secureing the configure files, and the install directory. You will notice a few yellow hilighted errors in the admin, after installing, like below.

Warning: Installation directory exists at: /home/sitepath/public_html/install. Please remove this directory for security reasons.
Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/sitepath/public_html/admin/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

Rename the /install/ directory using file manger in your hosting control panel, or use ftp, and rename it to "xx_install" the folder, or delete the folder
Use FTP, or file manager in your hosting, and change the CHMOD permissions on the two listed configure files to CHMOD 444. No other file permissions need there CHMOD settings changed after install.

2) Edit you contact us page, because by default it will have this info;

Your Business City and Postal Code.

Tel: Telephone Number
Fax: Fax Number

E-mail Contacts:
Business Relations - info@yourstore.com
Wholesale Inquiries - wholesale@yourstore.com

: Edit this information in includes/languages/english/contact_us.php using your ftp program or file manager

3) Next set up your payment modules, shipping modules, and make some policy pages;
To edit or install payment modules goto admin>modules>payments and install and edit.
To edit or install shipping modules goto admin>modules>shipping and install or edit
To make pages, use the the content manager (Community Edtion) or use Content Director (Pro and B2B versions)
